How can I tell if a tablet is an Android clone or has been rooted

I got a "no name"tablet(Lenotab) which I only want to use for only one app, but the Google Play sore says that "it wasn’t compatible with this version” but "they" said that it was 5.1.1 which is what the app ("Media Insiders") needs to run, so I emailed the app and they suggested that it may bed cloned or rooted, I will send it back if it doesn't work for this one app as it never said in the description that was either of those 2 things.

Thank You for any help you can give me as I am not tech savvy at all

Welcome to Android Central! It's not uncommon for off-brand devices to be incompatible with certain apps, perhaps due to hardware or firmware issues. It doesn't necessarily mean the device is cloned or rooted.

You can run Root Checker to see if the device is rooted.
