How can I tell if phone is locked or unlocked?

My s6 was lock when told it wasn't. It's a at&t phone but when checking with them they sa8d it wasn't locked. How do I find out who has it locked so I can try to get it unlocked.

You should be able to check the IMEI with an online IMEI checker. I would think it would tell you that info.
