How can I unintall lollipop and go back to Kit Kat?

After installing Lollipop my alarm clock no longer works when the phone is muted. Before lollipop my battery would last about 16 hours, It is now lasts only about 12.

Try backing up the phone, doing a factory reset, and reloading lollipop.

If you want to go back to KitKat, you'll have to find a KitKat ROM for that model phone and install it. You don't remove ROMS, you install different ones.
