How can it be?

The battery is being drained while the icon is showing as if it is charging.
I'm looking at the battery performance and see two contradicting indications.
What is going on here?

The icon indicates charge voltage is present, the battery screen doesn't show charging because your device is using more current than its being supplied.

Have you rebooted? Are you charging off a PC or the factory charger?

Welcome to Android Central! If your phone is plugged into a computer's USB port, then it might still use more battery than it gains, because USB ports provide a weaker current.

I would have to disagree.

Original poster: are you running any utilities such as battery management, widget management, notification management? Are you rooted and running custom ROM/kernel?

Any of these can cause incorrect icons to be displayed.
