How can one transfer/save text messages on a Verizon Note 2?

How can one transfer/save text messages on a Verizon Note 2? Am ready to replace a dying Note 2 at the Verizon store, but need to keep some important text messages. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a backup app that restores. I use My Backup Pro but there are others. Not sure but think that texts are saved by the carrier, too.

Download Verizons Cloud application, it's free and they give you 5gb, you can backup text, call, contacts pictures, videos, etc.

When I moved from my Bionic to my Note 2 I used SMS backup and restore. Worked like a charm, free in the play store. It's not cloud based, backs up to sd card.

My backup pro can transfer text, pictures, files and apps from one phone to the other through Wi-Fi.

sms backup and restore is what i use. savce to sd card. reinstall app on new phone and restore from sd card.
