Hello

Is there any way to remove the "hole punch" on the screen that is caused by the front/selfie camera?
i.e. I want the camera to stop using the top few rows of pixels.

This is particularly important when watching videos tha use the whole screen.

Background
I am planning to buy a new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus 5G (UK version).
But not being able to get rid of the hole-punch will be a deal breaker issue for me.

There is no way. You can get wallpapers that blend the hole in.

Disaster. :^[

Is there no "Hide Front Camera" on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus?

And are there no apps that will do this?

What about if I "root" the phone?

When you are using the full screen mode (e.g. watching a movie), do the edges get used or is there a line of unused pixels, so as to visually hide the camera?

You could try Nacho Notch. From what I can tell in the reviews, it should still work in One UI 3.0.

(Apparently, Samsung removed the "Hide Notch" system option in One UI 3.)

A potential problem with this is it'll black out the top notification area (except for notifications themselves) on all screens. So if watching a movie, playing games, etc, you'll still cut off part of the viewable area.

Samsung use to have the feature to hide the notch or punch hole in settings under display but has been taken out since andriod 10.and up, try B. Diddy suggestion Nacho

Every update is better than the next!

Yeah was great option to have and not have to download a 3rd party app , not sure why they did that .

You can arrange to hide the hole punch in apps using good lock Multistar module.

I use this option so that the hole punch doesn't interfere in a game that I play. But I am alright for other apps. But you can apply it to all apps.

Download Good Lock app in Samsung Galaxy Store. Download the Multistar module and it is at the bottom of the first screen as in the screenshot above.

Nacho Notch works decently when I have tried it. Though I don't like it, I have gotten used to that hole punch cut out. I would have preferred it in one of the corners though instead of right smack in the center.

Also.. Wallpapers only work on your home screen/and or lock screen. Once you are in an app, the blended in wall paper does you no good for hiding it.
