AC Question

I was reading my kindle book on my Droid (it has always worked beautifully), but I wiped the screen to remove some dust. In doing so, I inadvertently hit something which made the screen dim and the lock symbol to appear. I have been unable to figure out how to undo what I did either in the Kindle App settings or the phone settings.

Welcome to Android Central!

Within the Kindle app - while reading a book, the font settings also controls brightness

Thank you for this answer! All of a sudden the brightness of my Kindle app on my nice bright Samsung tablet dimmed considerably, and I've been wondering how to fix this issue for the past couple of weeks. YAY!! My eyes thank the individual who noted that the font menu includes the option for level of screen brightness. I registered for AndroidCentral just to be able to say thanks and I'm sure that the solution will help many others, too.

I've been dealing with this issue for several months and tried everything I could think of in my phone settings and my kindle app and could not get the text in books to brighten. Decided to Google the problem which brought me to the answer here. THANK YOU! (I also signed up with this site to give my thanks for this answer. Also, now I have a place to go with android questions)
