How can you tell if your Atrix is rooted?

I think I followed the instructions correctly but I dont know If I actually have a rooted atrix

or download a terminal emulator and type in su

if a $ comes up, you're not rooted.

easiest way is to see if you have a "Superuser" icon in your app list. its a droid guy with crossbones and an eye patch.

Not true, there has been many cases in which people have had the su app, but no privileges.
When I tried to root before, I had the icon but no privileges.
