AC Question

The person uses it as a standalone and we are in 2 different counties.

Depends on your environment, I can go 4 houses down the street before it disconnects, you can also use stand alone or via wifi, Bluetooth only here no LTE.
I leave my phone at home sometimes and use Samsung pay or if I going to a saved wifi hot spot that works too.
Your watch will beep and vibrate to let you know BT disconnects

Increasingly I'm running errands and such and using the LTE version to answer calls and receive notifications. Sometimes it feels liberating to go out without my phone. Strange, I know.

This is a strange question, because standalone mode by definition means the watch isn't connected to a phone. The range when connected via BT varies depending on factors like distance, obstructions, etc. With remotely connection, the watch and phone don't even need to be in the same state so long as both have network or wifi access. I rarely carry a phone, I just wear my watch and keep a tablet nearby.

mine disconnected after a couple of metres and a wall in between! maybe I got a duff one. bit disappointed that I felt I had to return it tbh
