how come I can't get off the bootloader page?

[Android Central Question]

I have an HTC desire 526 and every time I try to boot to download or recovery mode, it always says " failed to boot to download mode" or " failed to boot to recovery mode."
I have gotten it into recovery mode a few times. The red triangle with the i shows up but then no matter what I do, it always goes back to the bootloader screen.

What are you trying to do in recovery?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you able to boot normally? If not, then I'd guess the firmware is corrupt, or the motherboard is failing. It's a 5 year-old budget phone that most likely wasn't built to last.

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, the same response goes for your post as well, assuming you have the same phone. Does it only boot into Recovery?

Happened that i gave it to a friend to flash it but he couldn´t

i bought at amazon some years ago, was working normal, maybe he used a dev rom to flash it and failed.

You'll have to try flash it , probably xda can help with that
