How difficult is it to replace the original screen protector?

I never used screen protectors in the past because either I just didn't like the tactile feel, they didn't fit well and looked bad, or they wore out fast making the display look bad. Never had any issues with bad scratches on the screen so I just went without.

But with the factory installed protector for this phone, I didn't mind it at all (once I got a case). However, as they don't last forever, it now has a bunch of fine scratches that are starting to become noticeable and I either want to replace it or just take it off.

How difficult is it to get the protector on straight? I've never tried to install one on a phone with curved edges. If it's tricky and tends to go on wonkily, I'll just go without.

As long a you're in a well lit room it's not really any more difficult than flatter screens. The hole punch display does make it a little easier to center.

A lot of the better ones come with a guide as well which makes it pretty easy. I believe that's only with the glass ones though.

A lot of people really like the Whitestone Dome protector. I have put them on my family's phones. It's expensive but it is nice. I don't put anything on my screen myself but that's just my preference.

I ripped it off first thing after setting up my phone and have used it as is since, not a scratch on it.
No thanks to cheap crappy plastic on my premium phone screen :-)

See, for me, I need to have a screen protector as my fingertips are rough from all the chalk I use when training and also I do a lot of stone lifting; this dries the skin out on my fingers and I've scratched screens before via this and still having chalk on my fingers, more so when recording lifts etc...

For some of us, a screen protector is a necessity

I used the one that came with it till it got scratches, then removed it a couple of weeks ago. As good as the protector felt, I had forgotten how awesome just the glass felt, I will be going raw for the rest of my Note10+ duration.

Would you not be better off using the s-pen on your screen then?

I'm using Whitestone DOME, definitely watch Youtube video before proceeding. It's quite easy to install.

I refuse to overpay for a fancy screen protector.
The preinstalled one started to lift as soon as I put a case on it, but I had already ordered the cheap plastic ones, 3 for $10 or $20. I still have the first one applied.

The wet install film ones are easy to install because you can adjust them

Just took my factory protector off and I'm nervous as ****!!! But man this screen is amazing and I am noticing a big difference.

Yeah its great without it but my stepsons dog hit mine with its tail and sent it flying of a cocktail table on to a concrete patio. Dont know if the factory protector would have helped or the whitestone dome i took off of it to review a toastmade skin. The screen cost 300 to replace. It includes the color matched frame and they changed out the battery.

Ouch. Factory protector wouldn't be much help against concrete in thinking. If my screen breaks I will pay my 199 deductible and get a new phone coming.

Not sure glass would have saved it either but probably a better option. A good case would have helped because it dropped flat.

No, that's even worse as I've to fumble about trying to get the thing out. I've hands like shovels, hence why I like the Note range.

I've never had any issues with any screen protector, they do the job I need the to do :)

My rescue kitten scared the crap outa me by chewing what I thought was a break in my screen. I now have a small tear in the top right corner of my screen protector.

I just replaced my Whitestone Dome protector after my phone went flying out of my jacket pocket (shallow) onto concrete face down and cracked. Pulled off the Whitestone Dome and the screen beneath was unmarred. I actually worry more about the back glass - as my Note 8 back cracked even while being in a case. I tentatively took off the case after the cracked WSD from a concrete hit and breathed a sigh of relief that it was ok. Ended up installing the new WSD at my desk at work during a lunch hour, because there's just way too much dust from two goldens in my house. I ALMOST went into our clean room at work to do it, but my desk was just fine.

I have an update, and it's not good. Been 3 or so weeks without the protector on and noticed this morning that i have microscratches along the curve on both sides. Not a lot, 1 on the left, 3 or so on the right. I though I had got something on it, but no matter how much I wiped with my microfiber cloth they would not come off. Can't feel them with my fingernail, but with a razor blade I can definitely feel it. I have a case on with very good raisivity, screen never touches the surface it's on, and the only pocket it goes in is my shirt pocket with nothing else. I am thoroughly disappointed in the scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass 6. Upon Googling about GG 6 I found quite a few people saying the same thing.

That being said feeling the actual glass instead of the protector is awesome. Not sure if I'm gonna get a protector now or not.

To quote someone on Reddit... "But what are you going to do, stay with the screen protector so someone else can enjoy the phone scratches free? or use the phone yourself in all it's glory?

I prefer the second thing. But I've never seen something like this, not even Gorilla Glass 5 was this bad

THIS I've been using one on my Note 10+ for about 2 weeks. It's great, pretty easy to install, yes watch the videos, the written instructions suck. Uses a UV activated adhesive so it won't easily lift, has an install guide to get it centered properly and the clarity and the way it feels is amazing. It's like it's not there. Fingerprint scanner works just fine too. Will need to re-register your finger prints after install.
