Access Dialer Without Entering Pin Android L, Nexus 4

Is there a way to make the new swipe the dialer in from the left on android l not require any security measures. I think it would be nice to not have to unlock my device to let a friend make a call, but instead just swipe in from the side and have it working while the phone is locked like the camera does.

I don't think it's possible to bypass the security when launching the dialer from the lock screen. However, you can use the screen pinning feature to "pin" the dialer to the screen so the friend won't be able to open any other app.

Pinning the dialer, unfortunately, also hides all other needed dialer functions like hangingup, etc. This means I'd have to unlock to terminate a missed dial number and then restart the pinning process again.

Tried looking for a free dialer app in the play store and found Dialer+, but it can't dial out. Doesn't look like there's a way to pin widgets either.
