tamikamadex, it's not that no one was helpful, it's that badging depends on the launcher you're using, and there are many of them, each doing it in a different way. I suppose someone could list 50 common launchers that do badging and the way to set them up, but if the
questioner each listed the launcher they were using, someone could have told each of them a) whether that launcher did badging and, if so b) how to set it up. As Manafa said, you can use Tesla Unread for
Nova Launcher, which it was made for, and TouchWiz, the default Samsung launcher (I just had to check that one out - I didn't know it would work on TW - thanks, Manafa).
Tell us which launcher you're using (or, if you don't know because you're using the one that came with the phone, the make and model of the phone), and perhaps someone familiar with that launcher can tell you whether it badges and if so, how to do it (or you could just run Nova).
Bur, since this is the S8/S8+ forum, and most people would probably be using TouchWiz (but you;d be surprised by how many people post in a totally wrong forum), so install
TeslaUnread for Nova Launcher, choose which apps should get badged (little circles with the number of messages, phone calls, emails, etc. are waiting) and you'll have what you want.
