How do I add new S8 to google account?

Just upgraded from a Samsung galaxy 7 to an 8. I used to be able to track activity on my google account. Since upgrading, I can’t see my new device activity on my google account. How do I add my new device to google?

When you initially set up the phone, you should have been prompted to sign in to a Google account. Did you use your existing account login, or create a new one?
