How do I add people on a calendar event?

So, the only way I found to add someone to a calendar event is by texting him the event, which us not ideal as when I delete it or change it they wont be notified.
My calendar doesnt have a add a guest option.
I tried downloading Google calendar and I ddnt like it as it oesnt let me view the whole month in 1 page.
Please help?
