How do I add ringtones?

Ok, I can't believe I can't figure this out but I don't know what I am doing wrong. I put some .mp3 ringtones into the ringtones folder. Then when I go under the sounds menu and to the ringtones, if I click on Add Ringtone, I can't find the file I put in that folder. Is there another way to do this?

Either restart the phone or run media.Re.Scan. Copying files doesn't change the ringtone database.

When you select ring tones scroll to the bottom and select add ring tone and it should let you pick your own ring tone

Hoping someone can help.
I can choose a ring tone from my sdcard but it wont preview play it or select it as the new ringtone. This is very frustrating as all I can select is the stock ringtones, which suck BTW.

I recommend trying Ringdroid. It takes all the hassle out of selecting your own ringtones.
