How do I change my settings to see more than 7 days of email?

Using a Samson Galaxy Alpha and the email only displays up to the last 7 days when I scroll down. Any ideas how I change this so I can scroll down to see more than this?

Email->settings->manage account->tap your account->sync settings ->sync period.
