are you talking Flash memory or memory on your sd card? if it's the card yor talking about...go to settings>Sd card and phone storage it will tell you total space and free space.... if yor asking about flash memory.. sorry can't help:(

Thanks but what i mean is this. On my Storm 2 i had 256 mb of flash memory for the OS and the apps i download. Then had 2GB internal and a 16GB SD card that was for music, pics, and vids. I could only save the apps on my flash memory and i was looking for that on my DX. I read that it has 512mb of it. I just wanna be able to keep track of it. Sorry for the confusion.

Believe it or not, but when you do like traindrvr said and go to Settings--->Sd card and phone storage, the internal phone storage available space is what's available for applications.

With Froyo, you'll also be able to use the SD card for application storage.

Oh wow that's great. I thought it was going to be simular to how Blackberry does it. Either way that gives plenty of storage. Thanks a lot for the info.

I think I know what he is saying... I too came from a BB Storm...with "advanced task killer" it will show you an "available memory" of ___. That changes up and down depending on how many things you have open in the background.

As far as I know there is no way to check the flash memory without an application like this. Upon boot up my X gives me a 250ish memory available and after running for a couple of days with other things running I drop to around 60-70ish.

Hope that helps.

The X has:
512MB RAM
8GB Internal Flash (aka Internal Phone Storage)
16GB or 32GB SD Card

The RAM in this case is not Flash, when you reboot your phone everything is wiped out of this memory. This is were android and applications run, not store data.
The internal 8GB Flash is similar to the Hard Drive in a computer. This is where the operating system and applications are stored.
The 16 or 32GB SD Card is where user files are stored. Camera Pics, Music, Videos, whatever else you want to store.

menu-settings-applications-running services

at the bottom it says - Avail: 26MB+170MB in 51 Other: 86MB in 9

that is what is on my phone anyway and sounds like that is what you are talking about

You will not run outa of app memory. The X has 8gb its sole purpose is for applications.
