I connect USB cable to S22 to Mac Air.

from S22 settings -> connections -> mobile hotspot and tethering -> mobile hotspot = ON, USB tethering = ON.

from Mac Air -> System settings -> Network, i DO NOT see my S22, and I do not know how to add it. From everything I read online, once i turn ON the tethering settings on my S22, i should automatically see my S22 in the Mac Air network.

any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, USB tethering with Android on macOS is kinda hit or miss. macOS doesn’t really support it like Windows does, so that’s probably why your Galaxy S22 isn’t showing up in your network settings.

If you just wanna move files, skip the tethering stuff. Use an app called MacDroid — it lets your phone show up like a regular USB drive, so you can just drag and drop files.
