How do I collapse the keyboard?

Sometimes I want to see a larger part of a text message or a form I'm filling out but the keyboard is in the way. Anybody know how to turn it off and back on?

Usually of you hit the back arrow it will make the keyboard go away. This doesn't happen in every case though.

Try swiping downward on the screen.

you are correct, except when you hide the navigation bar on the bottom, it makes it a bit difficult to collapse the keyboard. swiping downward works but not consistent.

is there another easier way for people, like myself, hide the navigation bar
