Completely Unroot LG G3 with a Macbook
Ok, so I rooted my LG G3. It worked fine, just wasn't for me. I want to go completely back to stock. I tried using the SU one-click unroot and on the surface it seemed to work. However, when trying to install an update from T-Mobile, it goes about half way through the install, I get the triangle of death and the device reboots. It does not automatically remove the root access. I also used a root checker app from Google Play and it indicates that I do not have root access to my device. However, when I try to use GenieGO, from DirectTV, it indicates that it will not work on rooted devices and promptly closes. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling that app more times than I can count and it never works. I've performed numerous factory resets, also to no avail. Even when T-mobile's systems scanner runs, it comes back with "root" as the only "problem" error for my device.
I've searched the internet for Mac friendly programs to use on this phone, and have not been able to find any at all. I do not have access to a Windows computer, so that is not an option for me. So, I thought I would throw a line out in the forums and see if any of you have any suggestions. My phone isn't bricked, but not being able to install this update is making me twitch!
Thank you in advance.
