I tried to connect via USB to transfer some music and pictures over to the new Nexus tonight. I was surprised when I plugged it into my computer, that it wasnt recognized.

How do I get my computer to recognize the Nexus S?

Did you get an alert in the status bar? You should be able to pull down the status bar menu and select the option to enable usb. If not, then you may need to install the drivers, which can be downloaded from samsung.

Trying to download the drivers from Samsung. The problem is their website is being extremely fickle today and I can't get it to let me log in let alone get to the driver download pages.

I figured it out, I had to install the drivers through the Android SDK. You install some kind of file manager and choose to install only the Google USB drivers. It was somewhat of a timely process. I wish you could just install the dang thing from google.com somewhere.

Alternatively, you can install it with PDAnet, which was a lot easier (did that on my work computer), but it doesnt seem to be working for everyone.

I have not been successful at all with the SDK method. It will not install the drivers at all. I hope to try the PDA method you speak of when I can get the Nexus out of my sons hands. :)
