If it's an app that you can disable/uninstall (I'm assuming it's either ATT bloatware or something you installed), just tap and hold on that app icon and drag into the INFO button that appears. There you'll see the available options. If it cannot be disabled it means AT&T has deemed it 'critical' for your phone, in which case you can only hide the app from appearing in your drawer (but not stop it from doing whatever it is that it does) or remove it by rooting your phone (but again, just check if this app is not, indeed, needed).
