How to fix Galaxy S3 from exporting all photos from all sources to pc

With my other phones I simply plug in usb to laptop and import photos. When I try to import photos/videos from Galaxy S3 it wants to transfer every single photo and video from all the apps, etc on my phone. I took about 15 pictures that I wanted to import, and currently the phone is in the process of transferring over 6,000 images (yes, over 6,000).

Welcome to Android Central! This is unfortunately how the Import Photos and Videos function in Windows Explorer works--it has no real discrimination. I never use it, because it copies over so much junk. It's better to simply select the images or folders you want to transfer, then drag and drop.
