How do i fix my Moto G2 front facing camera?

One day every time i changed to front camera it just came up with the alert saying "camera isn't working please restart your camera". I have researched this a lot and I've done the usual, reboot, delete cache, restarted to factory settings, force stopped the camera and i also restarted to phone to safe mode and its still now working. Should i just give up as its been like this for a couple of months and get a replacement?

The camera module may have failed, and may be easily replaced, rather than chucking the whole phone.
