How do I Force Stop apps on the Moto X Pure Edition?

What's the easiest way to force stop an app? On my Note edge when Groove (formerly xbox music) music froze I could hold it down in the notification window and it would take me to it. It doesn't on here

I read Marshmallow brings a faster way to get to the app settings. Hopefully that is the case.

Bring up multitasking window and swipe the program away

Definitely this, or in multitasking window, long press the icon on the left side of the card and it will take you to the app info where you can clear cache and force stop, etc
