I followed the sticky for rooting the Nook, but its currently running the B&N Rom. How do I get froyo on it now? I don't want to run froyo off SD, as that is laggy.

Then you'll have to wait for a custom rom available through ROM Manager. Technically their is a way to install the same thing you can run off the SD card onto your internal memory, but you run a greater risk of causing problems for yourself.

My understanding is that we'll be seeing the Nookie Froyo available as a flashable ROM in the next couple days (that's a blind guess, but it doesn't sound like it's far off)... I'd wait until then, because it sounds like that is exactly what you're looking for.

I up to my neck in here & about to throw in the towel on trying to get nookie froyo. :( What is flashable ROM? I know how to Root my NC and would love to have Froyo without going the SD card route.

If not, I'm taking my NC back today or tomorrow.

Definitely be patient. If one thing I have learned over the last 1.5 years since coming to Android, everything you want will happen, you just need to be a little patient for someone to work out the kinks. The fact that ROM Manager is up already means all signs point to custom ROMs in the next couple of weeks.

These guys are absolutely right. Everything eventually gets done on Android

Hell, look at the fact that we are running Froyo on an E Reader!!! It will come!

Honestly... because if you take it back to get something that will run Froyo out of the box, you're going to pay hundreds more... Give it a couple days, it'll be ok, promise.
