how do I get more than 10 icons on the home screen?

how do I get more than 10 icons on the home screen? It shows two rows 5 columns if ocons.

I picked 5 columns 6 rows which is the max it offers me, but it is still only showing the 5x2, 10 icons.

Which phone? Are you using the stock launcher, or a 3rd party one? These are app shortcut icons you're placing, or are they widgets?

I don't know what a launcher is but I'm using the stock operating system it came with.

I think these are app shortcuts i'm talking about and not widgets. I'm talking about the icons on the home screen , which are
Calendar, clock,weather,settings,(google) photos,play store, google, brightness(an app I installed), business calendar(an app I installed), maps

Hi, it could be the stock launcher is limited, try 3rd party launcher like Nova to change beyond the stock grid size.

That weather widget might be to big to fit other app even though it's to one side , try smaller size of that weather widget or move it all together and u can fit more

That widget seems to be 2x2 in size. With a 6x5 grid you should be able to place more icons where I painted red. Also, long press the clock and see if you can drag it a row up.

I wouldn't be surprised if that clock widget was actually 5 x 2 in size itself. Try using a different clock widget, or removing it altogether from the homescreen.

Clock or weather widget, whatever it is to the left , it's too big
