How Do I Get My EVO 4G Back to Froyo 2.2?

I am completely new to flash backs and rom (need a newbie version) i tried the 3.70 flashback (put on sd card, hold power and down, get white screen, phone tries to boot PC36IMG and says update failed because the version is older) any way around this?

No you will have to wait for root on new 2.3. Your bootloader is still locked and will be for a little while longer.

So there is no possible way to get back to 2.2 if you get this message? I guess i will never be updating right away again

Yes, you are not able to go back since you have updateded. With the new update, you got a new boot loader, and this boot loader has not been cracked yet. Believe me this forum and xda will blow up once its posted that it has been broken.
