How do I get my pics to look less pixelated?

Have a Nexus 7 (2013) & when I set a pic from my photo album to be my wallpaper, it always looks pixelated. How do I fix that?

The higher resolution the pic the less pixlated it will look,also the app wallpaper wizardi allows you to set pics as your wallpaper and it fits the screen

The camera is pretty bad so my pics are mostly pixelated.
