How do I get my z3 to vibrate in slient mode

Since I up dated to lolly pop I can't get my phone to vibrate in slient mode.

Welcome to Android Central! Press and hold the Volume Down button until the volume slider goes all the way down--it should end up on Vibrate. Does that happen for you?

You cannot set vibration in silent mode, you can only have vibration with priority or sound mode. To set vibration in priority or sound mode, just press the volume down button until you feel the vibration and see the vibration symbol.

Or press one of the volume buttons once and the press the little bell symbol.

I've never seen such a worse way to do something so simple, I was listening to music but wanted to get rid of silence, So I had to stop music press volume down then press bell, volume button again then back to music and press play, Samsung pull down menu press Mute/Vibrate/On job done.
