how do I get pictures off Samsung Galaxy Ace-4 Lite

I have the phone connected to my PC and I was expecting Dropbox to somehow detect the pictures and upload them but it didn't happen. What do I have to do?

Thanks - rev

PS: How do I subscribe to a thread such that I get email notification of a reply?

>Your mixing two different methods of transferring pictures between PC and phone.
I don't know one method, let alone two. This from the manual:

1 Connect the device to the computer using the USB cable.
2 Open the notifications panel, and then tap Connected as a media device → Media
device (MTP).
Tap Camera (PTP) if your computer does not support Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) or
not have any appropriate driver installed.
3 Transfer files between your device and the computer.

This is all very well but I don't know what the Notifications Panel is or what it's icon looks like, can't find an icon with that name. How do I install Dropbox on the phone?

From what you have said, I think you will find the dropbox method easier. Open the Google Play store app, enter Dropbox in the search space, then you will see the app. Choose it, then touch install. When it opens, it'll ask you to create an account. You can use your Google credntials or something else - entirely up to you. Then dropbox will offer to back up all of the photos on your camera - say yes.

On your computer, go to dropbox.com, and follow the instructions to install the program, using the same new Dropbox account credentials that you created on your phone. After a few mintes, it should all be in sync.

PS - the notifications panel is seen by touching the top of your screen and dragging down.

I have Google, Google Settings and Google+ but no Google Play...

Thanks for the Notifications Panel - I found "Tap Camera (PTP) if your computer does not support Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) or not have any appropriate driver installed." But I got an error on the PC, 'Driver not successfully installed.'

It's called Play Store, under P not G. Looks like this. play.jpg

Installing the proper PC driver takes a bit of trial and error. I'd go with Dropbox.
