How do I get rid of an app (weather) that has taken over my old menu setting

My weather app on Samsung Galaxy 6 just disappeared so I tried to install a new weather up but I did not know what I was doing, now I lost my Home screens, I only get the weather app - and with ads!

Boot into Safe Mode. Once there, go into your app manager and delete the app. Clear its data, then force stop, uninstall.

Choose a better app. There are good weather apps.

Welcome to Android Central! Swipe down the notification panel, tap the Settings icon, go to Apps, find that weather app, and Uninstall.

Weather apps can be notorious for adware or worse, since that category is so popular. I like Transparent Clock & Weather, which does have some small banner ads in the menus if you just want the free version, but it won't take over your lockscreen or anything.
