How do I get rid of an unwanted widget?

I have a Samsung Galaxy s8, and I noticed yesterday that a little white tab had appeared at the edge of my screen. When I pressed it, a widget opened. It looks like a strange social media feed.

I didn't put this widget there, and I can't figure out what it is or how to get rid of it? The settings button takes me to settings for the white tab, so like it's transparency and what side of the screen it's on. There is an option to get rid of the tab, which I've done, but it keeps coming back.

Any suggestions about what it is and how I can get rid of it permanently would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! It's most likely a hidden "feature" of some app you installed (and no doubt includes ads, or gathers data about you in some way). Uninstall apps one by one until it goes away.

I'm having the same issue! For about a week now a tab has appeared to the right and the attached screenshot shows a blank blue screen open up any help greatly appreciated!
