How do I get rid of "ghost" voicemails?

Every couple hours, plus when I reboot my phone or switch airplane mode on & off, I get a notification I have a voicemail. But if I call voicemail, it days I don't have any new or saved. How do I get rid of these false notifications?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which carrier? Is it the Phone app that's giving you the notification, or a separate Visual Voicemail app?

Have you gone through your vm's and deleted everything individually?

Do you have any voicemail saved?

Clear cache and force stop the vm app (if using one).
