How do I get rid of root?

Hi all, I have a LG K520k Dab+ , hey it was cheap OK. I rooted it using KingRoot, but now there is an update available that won't install because "device is rooted" . I have tried unrooting, removing Kingroot completely from the phone and even factory reset, but it still tells me its rooted. Any ideas please? Phone is running Marshmallow 6.0.1

Should be a unroot option in SuperSU.

Thanks yeah, I had used that. After running Root checker, I am told that root is not available, but when I try to update I get told it is rooted.

Not necessarily. I was asking in case the OTA did a recovery check (some OEMs used to do that, not sure if they still do) and if it mismatched, they would fail.
