This seems to be a Samsung thing. It never occurred on my LG V20

I'm not sure what to disable.

It's a carrier thing. Verizon does it as well. I usually just swipe it away. Never found a way to get rid of it permanently without using a separate app and I think I had to be rooted to do that.

According to the Samsung person on Twitter, it's on all devices. Not sure why it's not on yours.

I don't have a Samsung anymore but I didn't see this when I did (I am on Verizon and was on T-Mobile before that).

I wouldn't trust Twitter reps .. half the time they answer completely wrong from the actual thing.

It's been on my Samsung phones for awhile now. I didn't have it on my S3 but S7 Edge, S8+ and now S9+

Download an app called Autonotification from the Google Play Store. It will eliminate whatever notifications you don't want.

It can be disabled in the advanced settings(in wifi settings, click on the three dots in the upper right and select advanced) .then Turn off Wi-Fi notifications.
