How do I get rid of the dot that shows up when I touch my screen on a Motorola phone?

Recently there's been a small white dog that follows my finger around when I touch my phone it used to only appear when I screen recorded but now it's always there and I and it makes it really hard to screenshot and I just don't like it in general

Turning off "Show touches" in developer options should do the trick.
