How do I get rid of the "Sprint" notification?

I updated to marshmallow this morning and I am definitely liking it. I have one quirk I can't seem to figure out. I have "Sprint" in the upper left corner of the notification area. The only time it goes away is when I have a notification from an app. Anyone know how to get rid of this? Please help....very annoying!

I would post a pic of it but can't figure out how to on mobile.

This has been driving me crazy. I can't find anything on it and no one seems to have an answer.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I loved the clean look with nothing up there. Now I always think I have a notification, but its just the Sprint logo.

Are you seeing this just on the unlock screen, or also when unlocked? On my VZW S6 on Lollipop only shows "Verizon Wireless" on the unlock screen, goes away when I unlock - maybe since I always have a weather app that displays temperature in the upper left. For you this may not be Marshmallow or Sprint specific.

It is on the lock screen as well as when I unlock the phone. Sometimes it goes away when I receive a notification and other times it stays. Very strange. I went into my applications and turned off all notifications for all apps and it did not go away. I called Sprint and they say I have to come into the store so they can see it.

I could have sworn I bought this phone so now I am walking around advertising for SPRINT with their tag in my upper left hand corner. I'm sure Sprint would be more than happy to comp some of my monthly charges for advertising for them, huh!

Two things; I've heard that multiple application of really sticky tape takes off that printing. Secondly, why in the world are you sporting an expensive phone without putting in a strong case like the Otterbox Defender? If you were, then you couldn't see the Sprint logo.
