How do I get rid of this icon?

This just began appearing on my phone last week. I didn't download any remote control apps. Perhaps this goes with the ATT app that came with the phone. Thing is, when I tap it, not only does nothing happen, it totally freezes my phone. I have to do a battery pull/reboot to get things functioning again. Anyone see this on their phone? Any insight is appreciated.

This is a known issue affecting many users. The culprit is an app called Peel smart remote, search for it in your app manager and disable it.
