How do I get the decrypt storage password prompt off of my HTC One?

how to get the decrypt storage password prompt off of htc one

this showed up and when I type in a password and select decrypt is says decryption unsuccessful and that data is corrupt and that I must do a factory reset. Is there any way to keep from doing a factory reset?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you actually encrypt your storage at some point? If this happened on its own, then it sounds like a hardware fault. A factory reset might not even fix it.
