How do I have my HTC u11 show unread text messages in bold?

Since I have owned my HTC u11 I have noticed that new text messages on the messages app don't show as bold. I have looked in the app settings, as well and in the main setting and have even gone into the main setting app section to the messages app. I am sure this is probably something simple and I am just not seeing it, but any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums as new member! That would be a function of the message app, which you've already looked at. If there is nothing there, you'd most likely have to go to another app that has that option. Techna seems to be very popular and might be one to look at.

Try changing the font size in the message settings or the system settings. If it's small, the bold text may be there but just not as visible as you'd like.
