Question All of my texts have disappeared

I first noticed something was off yesterday when I got a text from my wife, but it came from a 244444 number and it was paired with another message that said

It wasn't until yesterday evening that I noticed all texts from any time before Sunday were gone. I looked in the Trash of Samsung Messenger, but it was empty. I tried looking at Google Device backups. But there was only one backup at yesterday noon. And the SMS category is only 4KB, so that implies that the texts were already deleted before it did the backup. I tired installing Google Messages, but that didn't help anything. Am I hosed, cooked, or both?

Right, I mean contacting Verizon customer support to make sure there isn't some kind of issue with your phone or Verizon account. Maybe something got disconnected in your account.
