How do i install a theme for cyanogen?

I downloaded it and then went into recovery. wiped cache,dalvik then installed the .zip and rebooted. It reboots over and over again. So i restored with nandroid.

What am i doing wrong?

Try just rebooting into recovery and flashing the theme.zip without wiping anything. For themes you shouoldn't need to wipe only when flashing a rom or kernel and sometimes you don't need to for kernels.
