how do I install the new swype on the nexus s 4g?

Go to Swype.com. If you have an account, sign in, if not, create one.

Then peruse the site, you need the installer, get the most current one. They will send this via email, I do believe, to your phone.

Sprint has their own beta that you can use. I've been using it for a while and it's great.

This doesn't work. I have the Sprint version installed, which is now 2 versions old. It won't let me install the new Swype version. I believe that the Nexus S 4G cannot get the new version that just came out (judging by a thread I saw on their forums)

I believe you're correct, the NS4G only gets the beta for now, but mine looks different than it did a couple days ago, in terms of some of the buttons, so it may have updated. See picture.

You're correct. I just got the update myself. Before you could choose the Swype skin it the sprint black skin in the Swype setting. After the update the choice was removed. But the number keys are across the top now instead of top to bottom.

How did you get it updated?

I got my update by wiping data before installing a rom. I didn't backup my Swype before hand and had to re-download. When i reloaded it, it was a different version.

It happened, as Skunkape said, when I did a full wipe while loading an ics ROM. The Swype loader must have done it on its own??? I think I read somewhere that you can get it to update by opening the loader and if there is an update available, it will have an update button showing.
