How do I keep my call screen lit up as I dial?

I recently purchased a shockproof case for my s5 and was wondering if there is a way to keep the call screen lit up? Otherwise it just turns black as soon as I dial

Welcome to Android Central! Does that happen if you remove the case? The case might be blocking the proximity sensor, thus making the phone think it's constantly up against your ear. So when you make a call, it immediately thinks it's against your ear and therefore makes the screen go to sleep.
