I just got a thunderbolt on craigslist and the phone is rooted and has a update its not supposed to have and it runs a lot slower than my friends stock thunderbolt so I was wondering how do I get my thunderbolt back to stock with it still rooted?

What update does it have that it's not suppose to have???

If you really want to you could load the Stock ROM... just go to http://forums.androidcentral.com/thunderbolt-rooting-roms-hacks/72524-procedure-how-root-thunderbolt-adb-windows.html... look at Post #3... it has a link to the Stock ROM. You might need to look at what Radio you have to be sure you have a good Froyo Radio.

The problem with this configuration might be getting OTA's... I believe you can turn that off under the Settings > Update

I have 2.3.4 and the guy said something about he didn't put stock back on it because he didn't have it on his computer. I just play with this phone and its a lot slower than my friends thunderbolt. How do I check if I have a good froyo radio?

You have Gingerbread loaded on your device... it would probably be a good idea to figure out what you have loaded... and not a good idea to load a Froyo Radio, since you have a Gingerbread ROM.

First, what ROM... go into Settings > About phone > you need to find Kernel version... and Mod version... then to see what Radio you have look for Baseband version... these might be long numbers and letters, but I need the entire version numbers.

And, do you really want to load the Stock ROM since stock will soon upgraded to the newer Gingerbread ROM when that is released later this month???

I took a screen shot of all that stuff. Welcome to Flickr!

Every time I reboot my phone the camera and Google talk doesn't work I have to go change the date for it to work and that's annoying so that's why I wanna go back to stock

there is a camera.zip that you can load like a rom that fixes this problem.
I have no idea what it came from, some say clockwork mod is messed up, but if you flash this rom it will fix it. I don't think you need to wipe the phone.

I think you can find the file on the gingeritis thread.

It looks like you have 2.11 Gingerbread for the Thunderbolt loaded... which is the last leaked version, but not an Official version for the Thunderbolt... meaning it's not had all the bugs worked out yet.

So you are not stock... and the ROM will have bugs. It's up to you on what you want to do now... if you want to go to Stock then you need to use the link I provided above, and you will have to load a Froyo Radio. If you want to load a newer Gingerbread custom ROM then you need to do some reading on a ROM to load.

If you want help with a choice you need to let us know what you want to do.

Thanks for all your help. The reason I wanted to go back to stock is because the phone was running slow and when I tried to play YouTube hq videos it would lag really bad but now I don't know what I did but it is working perfect. Runs really fast and YouTube works great so I think I'm gonna just keep it like it is for now. Although I will try to flash the camera to fix that date changing problem

I deleted about 10GB off my sd card but I wouldn't think that would have done anything to speed the phone up
