How do I made the battery life of my Samsung Galaxy S5 better?

Samsung Galaxy S5 battery is terrible

Hey guys so my Samsung galaxy s5 has a terrible battery life... I was wondering if I'm the only one who have this problem... How can I make my battery life longer? Are there certain ways / time you need to charge your phone? I was experimenting on this for a week that if I charge my phone overnight, the battery life drains faster. And if I charge it when I wake up in the morning til I leave for school the battery life stays longer...
