How do I manage notification reminders?

Is there any way to reduce the frequency of a notification rather than merely switching it off (S4)? If I swipe snooze, then it comes on again far too quickly. Can I manage this?

Are you using the reminders in the Calendar app?

The frequency of the reminder is usually governed by the app generating the reminder. See the settings for that app.
