How do I move emails from trash back to the inbox on a Galaxy S5 using Gmail (single account)?

I am using gmail on a Galaxy S5. Gmail is deleting emails on server even though I have the account set to NEVER delete on server. I am trying to move emails from trash back to the inbox but cannot do it on the phone. In essence, I cannot move any emails in gmail trash to any folder. Why not? How do I remedy this?
